2:00 - 2:45 Brad Battey and friends & Sheila Graziano
Brad Battey has been fiddling (well!) since he was a tiny child. He has absorbed a variety of styles from Scandinavian to swing and is known for producing spontaneous musical fun. From a beginning in 10 years of tap lessons, Sheila expanded her repertoire to include Appalachian, Irish, Scottish, English, and Canadian styles of step dance. Long the clogger with The Raisin Pickers, she now performs in Matter & Ghost, a collaboration with Michigan's state troubadour Neil Woodward. She gives private lessons. (tradstepper@yahoo.com)
2:55 - 3:40 Ben Hassenger
Ben is a songwriter who plays guitar. His songs range for the silly to the serious, with lyrics about baseball, soccer moms, dogs, soldiers, and struggles. He also is half of the duo Blue Jello, which just released "Life is Good", full of fun music for the young-at-heart of all ages. His latest project is a song called "The Corner", filled with memories of Tiger Stadium; it has been featured in the Free Press and will be part of a soon-to-be-filmed video. (bquietmusic@acd.net)
3:45 - 4:30 Jere Stormer
Jere presents a mash up of ramped-up acoustic guitar styles: Celtic to Country. Original rootsy material to avant-adverturous instrumentals. Unfinished traditions infused with the unexpected. Three time Detroit Music Award Winner. (jerestormer@yahoo.com)
4:40 - 5:25 Kathy Wieland and Judy Insley
Kathy is a singer/songwriter from Ann Arbor and usually performs as part of a duo called Katseye. On this occasion she will be performing solo and backing Judy up on a few of her songs (katwieland@tds.net). Judy is a singer-songwriter-guitarist who has performed for decades on Michigan's folk music circuit - in festivals, cafes, churches, and other folk music venues throughout the state. She has recently released a new CD titled "Leaving Home" (insleyjc@comcast.net).
